He met not only the rigorous curriculum of YYGS but also his own research: his PIONEER started the same time!
As a global scholar, Louis had access to the Sterlin Library and Bass Library of Yale University.
Using these machines, Louis gathered more than 1000 pages of newspapers The Nationalist in all, which were later used for his Pioneer research.
During one of the Pioneer seminars, Louis' professor Alice Wiemers from Davidson College rated this experience as "one of her Pioneer moments". For Louis, Pioneer research was not only an online seminar but a real-life experience that enhanced his research ability greatly.
